Biography

Tim was born in 1989 in the Brussels-Capital Region, raised in a town in Flanders just outside, and still lives there until the present day. He received his master’s degree in electromechanical engineering from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2013. His master thesis at AVRG concerned the development of a monitoring system for offshore wind turbines, and keeping multiple systems across a large distance time synchronized to a very high accuracy. After his degree, he joined AVRG to continue this research, working mostly on LabVIEW development on the CompactRIO platform. Over the years, several data acquisition systems were installed at various locations, with the goal of providing continuous monitoring. Therefore his focus had gradually changed to scaling and automation to ensure all systems remain operational, and to make it easy to add new ones.
