Biography
Marc Moonens was born on May the 29th 1990 in Uccle, Belgium. He graduated in electromechanical engineering at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in 2014. He then started working in the ship building industry where he was involved in the design and construction of a jack-up vessel. In 2017, he turned back to University where he became research assistant at the mechanical engineering department of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), a position which he still occupies now. His main research interests are the fracture mechanics behaviour of additively manufactured metals, and fatigue crack propagation behaviour in particular.
