Biography:
Arsen has a background in Applied Mechanics and previously worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Materials Engineering of KU Leuven. He mainly focused on working with composite materials, performing experiments, data analysis and numerical modelling there. Having his main interest in computational methods, programming and data-driven methods, he additionally pursued an Advanced Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence (KU Leuven) to strengthen his knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques. After this, he decided to focus more on software development but somewhere where he could still employ some of his engineering domain knowledge. Consequently, he joined OWI-Lab and the group of Prof. Christof Devriendt, where he is contributing to research software development and maintaining IT infrastructure.
