Biography:
Faras Jamil received his master’s degree in computer science with specialization in Artificial Intelligence in 2020 from Vrije University Brussels. The topic of his master’s thesis was “Fault detection from sensor data using deep transfer learning.” He started his PhD in 2020 at the Acoustics and Vibrations Research Group (AVRG) at VUB. He received an FWO-funded PhD fellowship strategic basic research mandate. His research focuses on fault detection and degradation trending using hybrid intelligence techniques and multi-source transfer learning.
