Biography
Galid Arroud was born on June 21st 1984 in Antwerp, Belgium. He received his master degree in ‘Industrial Electromechanical Engineering’ from University College Antwerp, in 2006. In 2007 he rejoined the University College Antwerp as a scientific researcher. He joined the Acoustics and Vibration Research Group (AVRG) of the Mechanical Engineering department at VUB as a Ph.D researcher, in 2008, and simultaneously he had the position as a teaching assistant at University College Antwerp, within the Electromechanical Engineering division. He received the Ph.D degree within AVRG at VUB for his research in the field of non-destructive identification of defects in lightweight-materials by using a thermographical inspection technique. He is now post-doctoral researcher within AVRG and focuses on non-destructive identification of defects in composites and additive manufactured components.
